Meet Mohamed Diyab, Your Licensed Marrakech Guide
I was born and raised in Morocco and come from an Amazigh background. My journey in tourism began by the ocean in Taghazout, as a surf instructor welcoming travelers from around the world.
Today I’m a licensed guide based in Marrakech. I know Morocco as a local, but I also understand what it feels like to discover it for the first time.
As an Amazigh (Berber) Moroccan, I also share the language, culture and traditions of Morocco’s Indigenous people, something most city tours leave out.

Marrakech Tour FAQ
Can’t find your answer? See all 20 questions in the full Marrakech tour FAQ
Are you a licensed tour guide in Morocco?
Yes. I am licensed by the Moroccan Ministry of Tourism and work as a local guide in Marrakech.
Do you offer private or small-group tours?
Most of my tours are small-group tours, so you join a few other travelers. The Private Walking Tour is fully private, just for your group. Any other tour can also be booked as private on request. Message me on WhatsApp.
How much walking is involved?
Walking tours involve a fair amount of walking, as many Medina streets and souks are pedestrian. Comfortable shoes are recommended. Tell me about any mobility needs before the tour.
Can you pick me up from my hotel or riad?
It depends on the tour and where you stay. Many Medina locations can’t be reached by car, so we may agree a nearby meeting point.
What is your cancellation policy?
Please cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled tour. See the cancellation and refund policy for details.
How much does a private tour guide cost in Marrakech?
My tours start at €30 per person for the Medina Walking Tour. A fully private walking tour starts at €65 per person, and food tours from €120. Entrance fees to monuments such as Bahia Palace are not included. Message me with your group size for an exact price.
Is it worth hiring a guide in the Marrakech medina?
For a first visit, yes. The medina’s lanes are easy to get lost in and the souks are busy. A licensed guide helps you see the main sights, understand their history and shop without pressure. Many travelers book a guide on their first day, then explore on their own.
What languages do your tours run in?
English, French, Arabic and Amazigh.
